Exhibition Hall of Deng Xiaoping's Former Residence

 

"I'm Son of the Chinese People"

Located in Paifang Village of Sichuan Province's Guang'an City, the Exhibition Hall of Deng Xiaoping's Former Residence is by far the only special display hall commemorating the glorious life of Comrade Deng Xiaoping, focusing on the theme of "I'm Son of the Chinese People."

To commemorate the 100 anniversary of Deng Xiaoping's birth, the Exhibition Hall of Deng Xiaoping's Former Residence was built in his hometown and opened to the public on August 13, 2004. The hall covers a construction area of 3,800 square meters, constituting the prelude hall, three exhibition halls, the cinema, and the treasure hall, as well as other components.

The exhibition hall focuses on the theme of "I'm Son of the Chinese People," with an exhibition area of 1,800 square meters, divided into six parts: "Walking out from Guang'an," "A Military Life," "Painstaking Exploration," "Unusual Years," "Initiating A Great Cause," and "Howdy, Xiaoping!"

On exhibition are 170 cultural relics, more than 200 archives and documents, 408 pictures, 4 restored scenes, together with world-class digital film projecting technology and a multimedia displaying system, which vividly and roundly represent the glorious and legendary life of Deng Xiaoping and revive the true history before visitors by reproducing one important historical event after another.

"I'm Son of the Chinese People" won the Special Prize in the Sixth National Top Ten Museums (2003-2004) competition.
