 The First National Games for the Disabled

The First National Games for the Disabled was held inHefeiCity,East China'sAnhuiProvincein October, 1984. 1,500 people from 29 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities andHong Kongas well participated in the Games.

 The Second National Games for the Disabled

The Second National Games for the Disabled was held in the city ofTangshaninNorth China'sHebeiProvincefrom August 23 toSeptember 1, 1987. 900 athletes from 32 delegations took part in the competition of track and field, swimming, wheelchair basket, wheelchair racing and table tennis, breaking 6 world records for the disabled and 197 national records for the disabled.

 The Third National Games for the Disabled

The Third National Games was held inGuangzhouCity,South China'sGuangdongProvincefromMarch 18 to 23, 1992, having 6 competitions, including track and field, swimming, table tennis, shooting, weightlifting and wheelchair basketball. 2,000 athletes, coaches and staff took part in the Games.

 The Fourth National Games for the Disabled

The Fourth National Games for the Disabled was held the picturesque coastal city ofDalianinNortheast China'sLiaoningProvincefromMay 9 to 16, 1996. 1,102 athletes from 33 delegations took part in the 8 competitions. TheTaiwanProvincealso sent some viewers to the Games.

 The Fifth National Games for the Disabled

The Fifth National Games for the Disabled was held inShanghaifromMay 6 to 14, 2000and was the largest among all the 5 Games held up to date. 3,000 athletes from 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities as well asHong Kongand Macao SAR took part in the Games. The Games had 11 competitions.
