The Second National College Games was held in the coastal city ofDalianinNortheast China'sLiaoningProvincefromAugust 3 to 9, 1986. 2,228 athletes from 29 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities participated in the track and field and basketball competitions. 85 Games records set up at the 1stGames were broken and 3 athletes reached the national master sportsperson standard.
TheThirdNationalCollegeGames
The Third National College Games was held inNanjing,East China'sJiangsuProvincefromAugust 25 to 31, 1988. The Games was larger than the last two in scale, with the participation of 3,100 athletes from 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. During the 6-day event, 90 Games records were broken and one athlete reached the international master sportsperson standard, with 47 others reaching the national master sportsperson standard.

The Fourth National Games was held inWuhanCityinCentral China'sHubeiProvincefrom September 29 toOctober 5, 1992. Long-distance information network system and information bar codes enquiry system were applied during the Games, the first time in the National College Games history.
TheFifthNationalCollegeGames
The Fifth National College Games was held in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province from August 28 to September 4, 1996. The Games had 6 events, including track and field, basketball, volleyball, aerobics, eurhythmics andWushu(martial arts).Taiwan,Hong KongandMacaoalso sent delegations to the Games for the first time.
TheSixthNationalCollegeGames
The Sixth National College Games was held inChengdu, the capital city ofSouthwest China'sSichuanProvincefromSeptember 3 to 11, 2000, larger than any of the last five ones in scale and the number of participants. 2,841 athletes from 33 delegations took part in the 8 competitions and one exhibition event of shooting. The athletes put on an excellent performance, breaking one national record as well as 19 Games records in the track and field event.
