Shanghai 7th Art Chris Marker Retrospective

Created in 2010, in partnership with the University Normal of Shanghai, SH 7th Art offers, every three months, one week of French movies projections ( some are 35 mm length) around a theme or around an author. To complete this line-up, there is a French professional as a special guest attending every cycle to exchange with the public.

Tireless explorer of his time and of technological tools, French director Chris Marker (1921-2012) is the author of over fifty short films and features films, often created in collaboration with others: philosophers, filmmakers, artists or workers. His innovative and personal style draws in the codes of documentaries and fiction. SH 7ème Art invites you to rediscover this crafter of images whose films have passed through time and marked different eras, from the 1950s until the digital age.
