The 12-day event is the largest in the history of the Paralympics, involving more than 7,000 athletes, officials, and coaches from 147 countries and regions, from September 6 to September 17. During its seven years of preparation for the Olympics and Paralympics, Beijing took account of the needs of disabled people when updating public facilities.
