· WANG Anyi
Since she was first published in 1976, she has ceaselessly produced short stories, novels and essays, winning many literary prizes.
· SU Tong
SU Tong, a prolific author, was born in the province of Jiangsu in 1963. His short stories and novels often present female characters living in Imperial or Republican China.
· YU Hua
He grew up during the Cultural Revolution, and many of his stories are marked by this peculiar period of Chinese history. The world he describes is disturbing, threatening, and even morbid.
· MO Yan
Considered to be one of the greatest contemporary Chinese novelists, MO Yan is the author of about ten novels and more than seventy short stories. His first novel, A Transparent Radish, was published in 1981.
· YE Yanbin
YE Yanbin, writer and poet, was born in North West China in 1948.Since 1980, he has published many collections of poetry.
· YAN Jun
he is a poet and the most important music critic in China,as well as an newcome active sound performer.
· SHU Cai
SHU Cai will discuss contemporary Chinese poetry with the poet, novellist and translator Jacques Darras.
· WANG Jiaxin
He has published poetry in China and in England: Stairway (1991), Watching (1993), Nightingale in his own time and The Wandering Rocks in 1996. He works en lives in Beijing.

About Europalia Arts Festival
Europalia is a major international arts festival held every two years to celebrate one invited country’s cultural heritage. Its name is a combination of two words: “Europe” and “Opalia,” an ancient Roman harvest festival held in mid-December in honor of Ops, earth-goddess and fertility deity.
