The first museum operated by a State-owned enterprise on the Chinese mainland. Most objects in its collections were recovered from abroad. Its treasures reflect the unique charm of China's ancient bronze civilization. Forty carved figures of Buddha reflect the prosperity of Buddhism in the country from the fifth-eighth centuries.
