"The color of soy sauce – the Barkhor Bazaar was in that color," Tibetan-born artist Huang Jialin said without hesitation when asked to pick one color for his childhood playground.

Ethnically Chinese but born Tibetan, Huang was once a teenage thief, carpenter and craftsman on the Barkhor Bazaar, a 1,300-year-old street in Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet autonomous region.
