The press conference for Kazakhstan Culture Day was held on October 25 in Beijing. It was hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and organized by CAEG (China Arts and Entertainment Group).

Kazakhstan Culture Day is the largest cultural exchange event between the two governments since the establishment of diplomatic relations. During the event, two troupes consisting of around 180 artists from Kazakhstan will visit China. According to Nurlan Yermekbayev, ambassador of Kazakhstan, this activity will provide a platform for cultural exchange and commerce between two countries and become a highlight of the New Silk Road.

During the Culture Day event a series of performances will be staged in Beijing. As the opening performance, a concert will be staged on November 5 at the National Center for the Performing Arts and will present brilliant performances by two national troupes from Kazakhstan which include folk music, Kazakhstan folk dances and western music. From November 5 to 15, the Kazakhstan Ancient Treasures Exhibition will be hosted by the National Museum of China and will display more than 400 gold and silver wares from Kazakhstan, part of which will be exhibited abroad for the first time. The Astana Ballet Troupe Visiting Performance in China will be staged on November 7 at Beijing’s Century Theater.

In 2014 China Culture Day will be held in Kazakhstan.
