“Beautiful China” photographic exhibition

 

Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the PRC, a photo exhibition marking the 64th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China was held during the National holiday at more than 200 Chinese Embassies and Consulates, as well as Chinese Culture Centers in nearly 140 countries. Over 100,000 foreigners participated in the event

It showed dozens of pictures from contemporary China, such as grassland in Xinjiang; Forbidden City during a sunset; fisherman casting a net at dusk; a cotton farmer's joy; and a foreign teacher in a village school. The exhibition presented the changes and significant achievements made by China after the reform and opening up to the outside world.

When the exhibition opened in Saudi Arabia, photos were posted on Facebook, which attracted more than ten thousand viewers within a few days. Some followers who had visited China before said that the real China is more beautiful than the photos.

At the same time, the photo exhibition also displayed at the Beijing Capital International Airport under the project of “Culture Gate of Nation,” giving a Chinese cultural experience to foreign travelers.

Highlight: Made use of social media and the “Culture Gate of Nation” project to promote the exhibition which constantly expanded an appreciative audience.
