A Peking Opera-Ballet, will appear in New York

The Adventure of a Tiger, a Peking Opera-Ballet, will be performed in New York at the Chinese Spring Festival by Chinese Peking Opera-Ballet Troupe. The drama’s inspiration comes from Ang Lee’s Life of Pi.

The adventure of a Tiger fuses Peking Opera’s Shuiqi, Wusheng somersaulting, silk clothing, and ballet, all creating beautiful scenes filled with various eastern and western dances. In addition to pas de trios, Hula Dance from Hawail will also appear in the drama, making the show more colorful.

Highlight: The adventure of a Tiger combines Peking Opera with a famous film, adding a ballet element. It fuses traditional Peking Opera costumes, music and dancing into a European-style ballet.
