Overseas Chinese Culture Centers

China goes to the world

Chinese Culture Centers abroad are creating a greater cultural understanding of China in countries across the globe by opening training classes, libraries, and holding cultural activities. By 2020, 40 cultural centers will have been established.

Highlights:

Nigeria's newly-built Chinese Culture Center was unveiled in 2013, a center set in South Africa pushing for more higher-education cooperation and to educate the coming generations to help carry on the China-South Africa friendship.

A Chinese culture center was opened in Mexico in 2013, the first of its kind in Latin America.

In 2013, for the “scholarship trip,” students from Chinese culture centers in 11 Asian, African, and European countries came to China. They experienced Chinese local customs and practices, built friendships, and enjoyed the entertainment created through cultural exchange.
