Mongolian Universities, Chinese Culture Center Hold Activity to Promote Cultural Exchange

The Ulan Bator Chinese culture center and five most influential Mongolian universities Friday jointly held a Chinese riddle guessing competition to introduce Chinese traditional culture to the students.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the competition, Director of the Chinese culture center Meng Shude said in order to promote cultural exchange between China and Mongolia, the Chinese culture center invited Mongolian State University, University of Humanities and Mongolian State University of Education to jointly organize this event.

Due to the unique characteristics of Chinese riddles, the event would help the Chinese-learning students to know more about the extensive and profound Chinese culture easily and raise the students' interest in learning Chinese, he added.

In the competition, a total of 60 riddles were divided into four different categories including Chinese character, idiom, folk adage and place names.

"It was not easy to get the answers of the riddles and one should know well about the Chinese culture and possess the ability for reasonable imagination to get the right answer," a Mongolian student told reporters.

Some 100 Mongolian Chinese-learning students and teachers from the five universities attended this event.
