The road to my ancestor’s grave is long and winding; the bridge along the road is dangerous.
Maples loom over the misty mountain in the distance; only one shabby cottage is located along the wheat fields.
The grass on both sides of the road grew out in the spring wind, making the footpath disappear.
After Tomb-Sweeping Day, pear flowers will blossom. I can’t stop missing you, my dear family.
About the poem: In this poem, the poet expresses his strong feeling of missing his dead relative along the way to visiting his relative’s grave. The scenery along the road is gloomy; this deepens the poem’s feeling of mourning.
