The Chinese embassy in Austria and the consulate in Toronto, Canada have celebrated National Day.

In Austria, Chinese ambassador Shi Deming held a reception to mark the occasion. Over 500 people, including elites from sectors of politics, economy and culture attended the reception.

Addressing the reception, Shi Deming spoke highly of the development of China since the establishment of the PRC. He said China would like to make joint efforts with Austria to promote bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation.

Meanwhile in Toronto, Canada, Chinese consulate staff celebrated the national day with overseas Chinese.

Consul General Chen Ligang delivered a speech to mark the 61st anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic, and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Canada.
