Taicang Week kicks off in Suzhou Pavilion

 
Zhang Zhiqiang, a craftsman from Taicang City shows off his skills.
 

A paper work mocking the flagship of Chinese explorer Zheng He in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), who explored the India Ocean.

The week also includes a series of folk art performance as well as unique craftsmanship such as straw paste-up and wood carving.

Visitors touring the Suzhou Pavilion during the week will get pamphlets and coupons including a guidebook on the city and a Taicang tourism card.

The emblem, depicting the image of three people-you, me, him/her holding hands together, symbolizes the big family of mankind.

The theme of Expo 2010 is "Better City, Better Life," representing the common wish of the whole humankind for a better living in future urban environments.
