Apart from the World Expo, visitors to the Shanghai metropolis can also get a panoramic view of the global cultural event at the Shanghai Archives Museum.

There, they can take in an exhibition showing rare documents and memorabilia of China's involvement in previous world expos involving China.

One exciting exhibit traces the path of China's application to host the World Expo from its initial footsteps to finally reaching the goal of making the dream coming true.

The exhibition puts on display thousands of items that are closely associated with the World Expo. The exhibits, covering a wide range from photos to real documents, span a long period of time from as early as the Qing Dynasty to New China. So far, over ten-thousand people have visited the show since it opened at the end of April.

Among the pieces are an invitation from the Austrian government for China to participate in the Vienna Expo during the reign of Emperor Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, and an accordion-styled scroll of Emperor Guangxu depicting the support to the expo held in Philadelphia of the United States.

The exhibition also features souvenirs coming in various shapes and sizes, including medals, and handkerchiefs.

Many of the exhibits are on loan from the archive museums in Beijing, Guangdong, and Fujian. They cover the entire process of China's application for the World Expo.

The exhibits vividly reflect the struggles and endeavor of generations of Chinese people, who made their dream of hosting the expo come true.
