Chen Zhongshi is a Chinese author born in June 1942 in Xi'an. He started writing prose in 1965,and finished his representative novel White Deer Plain in 1993. In 1979 he became a member of Writers Association of China. Now he is the chairman of the Writers Association of Shaanxi. White Deer Plain won the Mao Dun Literature Prize in 1996.
