The Lotus Festival at Baiyangdian Lake has begun and will continue until August 31. The best season for enjoying the sight of lotuses is between late July and early August.

The Lotus Grand Garden locates in the Baiyangdian scenic spot of Anxin County, Hebei Province. Baiyangdian is the wetland reserve zone and a famous scenic spot of Hebei Province. It is also one of the best scenic spots in China. The water area of the garden is 1560 mu (1 mu =0.0667 hectares). The garden consists of 6 sections, 12 gardens, 36 scenes, 72 connecting bridges and 666 kinds of international famous lotuses. So far it is the largest lotus garden in China. In 2003, it successfully held the 17th National Lotus Show. Baiyangdian Grand Garden is an ecological scenic spot. It is a tourist attraction, a place of leisure while also a place where serious scientific research gets done.
