Romance of the Western Chamber is a silent film (1927) by YAO Hou and LI Minwei will be screened with Chinese and French intertitles. It was adapted from a famous theatre play which has inspired many operas. In a monastery where he is studying for his exams, a student falls in love with a girl after whom the leader of a band of outlaws is lusting.
