This concert features the best Chinese string instrumentalists from every generation. The sacred art of LI Guangzu, a remarkable pipa player, rubs shoulders with the virtuosity of ZHAO Cong, a promising young pipa soloist with the China National Traditional Orchestra. Both originally from Beijing, these two musicians have profoundly different musical styles. CHEN Qijun is considered to be one of the best interpreters of zheng, whose introverted, meditative style contrasts with the spirited performances of the Sanchuan Zheng Trio.
