Chinese Gardens for Living

TANG Keyang aims to create a better understanding of the Chinese garden; not as a stationary image from the past, but rather as a system which is still under development. The project Chinese Gardens presents the Chinese garden not only as a growing abstract tradition but also as a tangible physical setting in which artworks are grouped together so that the gallery itself becomes a garden. This exhibition examines the meaning of the garden in Chinese society by showing the works of artists, photographers and modern Chinese designers.

About Europalia Arts Festival
Europalia is a major international arts festival held every two years to celebrate one invited country’s cultural heritage. Its name is a combination of two words: “Europe” and “Opalia,” an ancient Roman harvest festival held in mid-December in honor of Ops, earth-goddess and fertility deity.
