The China of the Last Emperors, Between Splendour and Simplicity

This exhibition will take the visitor to 18th and 19th century China, when the Manchus were in power. During their reign, whole cargos of porcelain, tea and silk were exported to Europe. The blind and visually impaired can also explore all these wonders by moving their hands on a sumptuously embroidered shoe, the polished face of an antique porcelain vase, a sophisticated chiselled bamboo perfume box, or the plate of an opium pipe.

About Europalia Arts Festival
