Ancient Chinese silk production and traditional brocade weaving techniques are presented by the Nanjing Brocade Research Institute. This institute reproduces the highlights in the history of silk, through the investigation of archaeological textile fragments. Along with the selection from the Nanjing Institute, the exhibition displays an original loom for brocade, as well as a choice of costumes from the Chinese collections of the Royal Museums of Art and History.
