The first Chinese Kindness and Filial Piety Festival is hosted by the Association of Folk Artists of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Ethics Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Jiangbei District Government and Ningbo Investment Company. The festival will hold a series of events, including the Chinese Kindness and Filial Piety forum, the creation of a picture book about Chinese kindness and filial piety, and the opening ceremony of the Chinese Memorial Hall of Kindness and Filial Piety.
Another planned event will be compiling the top ten stories of kindness and filial piety in China. After a campaign was launched in June for submissions, the committee received a total of 1,529 stories from both home and abroad. After careful screening and review, 20 stories were selected, eventually brought down to the final 10. Nearly a thousand media organizations voted, with more than 6.8 million valid votes collected.
As the main venue of the festival, Jiangbei Cicheng received a comprehensive transformation of its public infrastructure, with new car parks and a shopping centre being built.
