Areas South of the Yangtze  By Luo Xiaoping and Liu Xiulan

About the authors: Luo Xiaoping, born in July 1960. Graduated from Jingdezhen Pottery and Porcelain Institute in 1987. Art teacher at Tongji University (Shanghai), 1987-1992. Chose to be a freelance artist and founded his own studio in Yixing (one of the ceramic capitals in China). Four pieces of works awarded at the 5th National Ceramics Competition, 1994. Now Visiting Professor of Suzhou College of Arts and Crafts, President of Yixing Society of Ceramics.

Liu Xiulan, born in 1960. Graduated from Jingdezhen Pottery and Porcelain Institute, 1987. Prize awarded for her work, Modern Pot, the 5th National Exhibition of Ceramics Art, 1994. Damo, a work co-created with Luo Xiaoping, admitted into the 8th National Exhibition of Fine Arts. Works published at home and abroad.

About the author: Yao Yongkang, born in Zhejiang Province (East China) in 1942. Graduated from Jingdezhen Pottery and Porcelain Institute, 1966. Presently professor of the Institute's Art Department. Member of China Artists Association. Vice-Chairman of Jiangxi Sculpture Society. Member of China Arts and Crafts Society.

 Autumn Rhythm (1 piece) By Qin Xilin

Size: 23cm x 23cm x 20cm

About the author: Qin Xilin, born in Jiangxi Province (South China) in 1942. Graduated from Jingdezhen Pottery and Porcelain Institute, 1964, and now its President. Titles and memberships include: Chian Arts and Crafts Master, Executive Council Member of Chinese Society of Ceramics Industry, Deputy Director of National Center of Ceramics Design, Member of China Artists Association. Position: Jury Member of China Arts and Crafts Master.

 Suzhou in Rain (1 piece) By Gao Feng

Size: 34cm x 34cm x 12cm

About the author: Gao Feng, started to learn ceramics from his father Gao Zhuang in 1978. Hardly any formal training. Concentration on the practical aspect of ceramics works. Entries in over 10 exhibitions at home and abroad.

About the author: Ning Gang, born in Jiangxi Province (South China) in 1939.Graduated from Jingdezhen Pottery and Porcelain Institute, 1959. Now art teacher of the same institute. Member of China Arts and Crafts Society.

About the author: Bai Ming, born in 1965. Presently teacher at the Department of Ceramics, the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University. Works widely exhibited. Debut one-man exhibition and seminar, Beijing, 1996. Works in public and private collections at home and abroad.

About the author: Lu Jinquan, MA degree (Ceramics), 1990. Now an art teacher in Jingdezhen Pottery and Porcelain Institute. Works travel widely.

Size: 32cm x 32cm x 101cm

About the author: Liu Pinchang, born in Jiangxi Province (South China) in 1962. Trained as a sculptor in Jingdezhen Pottery and Porcelain Institute, 1978-1982. Acquired MA degree, 1988. Promotion to associate professor, 1992, and Deputy Dean of Department of Sculpture. Transferred with the same title to the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, 1995. Now Head of in-campus ceramics studio.

About the author: Wu Ming, born in Jiangsu Province (East China) in 1957. Works widely exhibited and published. Winner of both domestic and international awards. Member of National Society of Industrial Design, National Society of Ancient Ceramics.

Size: 58cm x 38cm x 55cm

About the author: Lan Zi (Jiang Xueying), born in Heilongjiang Province (northeast China) in 1963. Art education at Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, 1981-1985. Presently teaching at the Art School attached to the Central Academy. Works exhibited widely in China.

Vegetable Series (1 piece) By Chen Yezuan

Size: 36cm x 36cm x 6cm

About the author: Chen Yezuan, born in Hubei Provine (Central China). Graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Engaged in crafts management and artistic practice in ceramic factories and fine art institutions. Titles include Senior Craftsman, Guest Researcher, associate vice professor and so on conferred by various schools and colleges.
