Something Different -Yan Ping’s Eternal Theme Paintings

If they were living today, it is uncertain that Monet would have been in the mood to dig a pond himself just for painting a lotus above water, that Van Gogh could consistently illustrate with passion the sunflowers in Arles using colors similar to the sun in August, that noted Chinese artist Qi Baishi could patiently work out a way to describe the fine hairs on the calyx of magnolia by vignetting out the wet ink.

In the flourishing contemporary Chinese arts arena, abundant painters love to make an issue of people and events, to reveal the vicissitudes of society, the ebb and flow of history, and the inhibition and distortion of humanity. Women painters are on their way to get rid of their disadvantaged status in the arts, and to establish the banner of feminism. The atmosphere of “go ahead and go ahead” shrouds numerous canvases.

Yan Ping’s paintings make us forget the existence of time for a moment, the French art critic Dr. Henry Perier commented. Who is Yan Ping? Having participated in "The First National Exhibition of Oil Paintings", the "Biyearly Exhibition of Chinese Oil Paintings", and the “1993 Chinese Oil Paintings Exhibition" in the National Museum of Fine Arts of China, and "The Modern Chinese Art Exhibition" in New York, she has gained several awards. In April, 2012, Yan Ping had her works entitled “Awakening of Insects” displayed in Xi’an’s Art Museum, in Shannxi province.
