In China’s feudal history, Manchu women of the Qing Dynasty did not have the tradition of foot-binding, which was the aestheticl standard of the time and quite popular among the Han ethnic group. Considering that unbound were deemed ugly, Manchu women invented a high-heeled shoe with the high heel in the center.
