"Tigers" on Coins

In 1895, Taiwan's military and civilian strongly opposed to the corrupt and incompetent Qing government who ceded Taiwan and bravely organized the anti-Japanese movement to defend their homeland. In order to raise their pay, they distributed "Tainan guan" note, which stamped the "tiger-strip seal". Because tiger is subordinate to Dragon, this is to show their resolution that they will never abandon their motherland.

Besides the ancient Chinese zodiac coins, China also distributed three sets of Chinese gold and silver coins in the year of 1986,1997 and 2009 respectively (they are all years of tiger). The most attractive one is the Gengyin tiger gold and silver coin in 2009. This set has 15 coins, including 8 gold ones, 7 silver ones with many shapes----round-shaped, fan-shaped, quincunx-shaped and rectangle-shaped. Among these, there is a 10-kilogram pure gold coin, refining giant, fineness 99.9%, and the largest circulation is only 18 ones, very valuable.
