Luo Shengjiao Memorial

The Luo Shengjiao Memorial, located at the west side of the Zijiang Bridge of Xinhua County in Hunan Province, is a museum in memory of Luo Shengjiao, a fighter of the Chinese People's Volunteers, who sacrificed his own life for saving a Korean child from the river during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. It was prepared in September 1983 and opened to the public in April 1985.

The memorial consists of three parts, Childhood and Early Youth, From an Ordinary Soldier to an International Fighter and To Pass On Martyr's Spirit from Generation to Generation. The exhibits include the martyr's portrait, the poems he composed, the things he left behind (reproductions), the 78 photos showing the scenarios of the martyr's father Luo Diekai being received by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Ye Jianying and Kim-il Sung; another 51 photos showing Cui Ying, the Korean kid saved by Luo Shengjiao, came to China to see his Chinese parents, the visit of a Korean special envoy to the martyr's homeland and Luo Diekai's two visits to Korea; the First Class National Flag Medal conferred to Luo Shengjiao by the Korean Government, the Second Class National Flag Medal conferred to Luo Diekai by the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Congress of Korea; as well as Luo Diekai's certificates to participate in the various meetings in China and the medals he was awarded.
