Guangxi Geological Museum

The Guangxi Geological Museum, located at Nanning City, is a geological museum of provincial level in China. It used to be the Guangxi Geological Mineral Exhibition Hall founded in 1958, rebuilt in 1977 and officially opened to the public in 1989.

The museum has collected over 10,000 pieces of various kinds of geological samples. The rare exhibits are the crystal cluster of calcite, crystal cluster of crystal, piezoelectric crystal, smithsonite, native gold, native silver, green turtle fossil, Asian elephant fossil, antler fossil, the fossil of ancient extinct animals and plants of the standard cross section of the Devonian System at Luofu, Daluo and Liujing, and the meteoric iron found at Yongning, Tianlin and Nandan. The basic exhibitions include the popular science of geology, the ancient extinct animals and plants of the stratums, the mineral resources, the deposit geology, the hydrogeology and engineering geology and city environment geology. The museum has carried out scientific research on meteoric irons in Yongning and Tianlin and found a rare nickel mineral at Yongning.
